MM7726 in the colors of 96° Squadron, 9°o Group, 4° Flock C.T. in Martuba (Lybia), December of 1941

by Marco Bossi

Kit: Hasegawa
Kit plus:

I have built this [kit] around 10 years ago when went out the Hasegawa box.
My interest was mainly for the camouflage scheme adopted and arrive immediately to the painting have chosen a shortening "straight from the box."
The unique adjustments have localized to the form of the tailplains tail and to the goat [rollbar].
The pitot is made with needles from syringe as like the spar beams old type.
The nick of external aim are made with of the gossamer metallic thread.
This summer I have put again hand to the model correcting the painting of the snug areas and replacing the horses foals and the bundles on fuselage with those of the Skymodels sheet and Tauromodel.

Unfortunately, having used exclusively one mixture of colors Tamiya base, and having obviously lost the relative paper of the magical wording, they are not in a position to giving the mixture relationships, goes said that the satinata finish makes yes that in the photographic yield the tonality of the green appears softly clearer. The camouflage one applied is constituted substantially from the"primule" in Camouflage Yellow 4 on alter with Green background Tawny Dark Olive 1 with Camouflage the 2. Blue Gray Clearly 1 covers the superficial inferiors. Going to compose therefore the outline said "eggs to the saucepan" to typical course of the aircrafts constructed from the Aermacchi plants.

This aircraft present areas painted in gray to cover of the repairs carried out in the junction zone of wing and of the part finishes them of comprised tail some patchs for of the blows embeds on Malta and for a successive landing of emergency happened near Siracusa 4 October to you 1941 with to the commandos the Serg. Magg. Tawny Spitzl. Own from an interesting article appeared in Military History I have learned the continuation of the history of the Sergeant major Spitzl. L?11 March 1942 to the commandos of C.202 MM7931 was carrying out a test flight when probably as a result of troubles to the motor were pulled down in flood Via Padova in Milan. Spitzl perished after a month for serious hurt brought back.

Now missing the theatrical background to the model.. Obviously the cue is the two present photos on the No.41 volume of the series" In Action" of the Squadron/Signal Publication. that show the MM7726 parked with on the background a S.79 and a S.81 in maintenance. For the usual reasons of time I have withdrawn for the background on the cantZ.1007 in 1/72 as soon as "resuscitate" by my Luca brother.

It does not remain that to construct spinning of palms on the background. In order to make this I have always decided for a shorten. In order not to put since every modeller too much to us one of ago, hundreds of it thinks, and thousands begin some.....ho headed all at the more efficient way in order to make the rebellions in possible the more faithful way and that photograph fidelity had one rather. I have begun basing for some day the diet on the Yogurt, obviously in the confection from 500gr. I have recovered therefore the tinfoil stoppers of the glasies. Clipping the contours of the leaves according to several lengths, then with a scissor I have chipped same the perpendicularly of longitudinal axle. In order to obtain the effect of the weight I have trod with a pen along the main ribbing, in this way has created a force rib that gives also the curvature to the blade. The thread from large peach and the usual vinilic glue have then constituted the shank. (fig. c202mb-palma.jpg) In order to make the log me they are get out of with rod a covered Milliput putty shaped and inlaid in order sufficient to to approach me the semblance of a palm log. For the report also I had begun to make dates, but me they are not felt to go beyond always for time reasons. I have constructed therefore "the mother of all palms" then I have photographed from various angles and distances, being careful not to vary angle of lighting system in order not to alter the consequent direction of the shadows. I have obtained therefore a series of palms in digital format them from being able to then compose in the photo made to the diorama obtained respecting the more faithfully possible point of escape of the original photo.
