| Another example of masochism........Since I have already
two “Corsair” Hasegawa .... here it is the ESCI
model. The aircraft is the BU.NO.159292 “Sidewinders”, assigned to the CAG of Va-86, embarked in 1981 on the USS Nimitz. The ESCI model features a nonexistent cockpit, an invented seat and a fine riveting “in positive.” The model is unpretentious but looks very good, despite the fact that it has been mounted straight from the box with just a Verlinden seat added. I painted it in the classic US Navy colour pattern: gloss gray 16440 and white 17785. I oil washed all the model succeeding in highlighting the panels and then I bleached and homogenized the colours to simulate the wearing out caused by the sun and the salt. I closed the jet intake with a protection made of paper painted and soaked in vinyl glue and then treated it the same way complexion has to be simulated. The decals come from the Superscale sheet dedicated to this airplane and you can choose between “Fast eagle 102” e “Fast eagle 107” Sukhoi killer (Sirte 19,08,1981). |
