Macchi Mc 202
Scale: 1/72

by Ivan Ferrando

Kit: Hasegawa

Kit plus: Cockpit True Details, drainages Moskit, Photogravures Eduard

Assembly

Because the space undercarriages of the kit completely is mistaken I reconstructed simulating cables and the pipages by means of threads of branch of various diameter, sprue pulled and some you leave photogravures coming by the set Eduard 72-051

The Cockpit of the kit (little realistic) has been completely replaced with that one in resin of the True Detail.
I have tried to use the drainages in metal of the Moskit. the assembling has been rather difficult; after to have removed those of the kit, I have reconstructed the advanced bulkhead with of the plasticard, and have glue (after the opportune tests to dry and adaptation) the motor hood of the kit. To this point a long phase of puttying has become necessary, correspond and engraving of the lines panels, lost during the work. The Moskit drainages sure contribute to improve the realism of the model, but to made accounts, seen the amount of necessary hours of job, I think that the game is not worth the candle.
With a bistoury much sharpenning I have detached all the superficial furnitures of the kit that then I have re-glue little movements. As far as the flaps I have used the photogravures of the set Eduard cited previously.

For the assembling of the semifuselages and wings not they have been big problems and the used putty amount has been minimal. In order to carry out all the puttying I have used the Milliput, left to dry for 24 hours and subsequently corresponded. Where if it introduced some the necessity I have finished using of the cianoacrilic glue like stopper and, to happened drying, I have corresponded with abrasive-paper of 600 to 1200. My opinion, the Milliput offers to many advantages, because it 's spread much good with a cotton fioc humid, to the point that in some points is not more necessary to correspond or is enough to little passages. Moreover if the necessity of re-engraving is it does not have the problem to make the leaks like the putty for plastic.
