Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6

Un  po’ di storia: Nei primi mesi del 1943, a pochi mesi dall’armistizio, finalmente i vertici della R.A. decisero di effettuare una seria valutazione del Bf.109 per andare a compensare le elevate perdite della nostra Caccia e nel contempo cercare di contrastare la Superiorità Aerea degli Alleati che si faceva ogni giorno più forte, dato che i Nuovi Caccia della Serie “5” uscivano  con il contagocce. In totale la R.A. ebbe in dotazione 125 caccia Messerschmitt delle varie versioni, distribuiti al 23° Gr. CT ed al 3° e 150° Gr. Aut. Caccia Terrestre. Il Modello: Il modello in questione è stato ricavato  dalla scatola  Jt187 dell’Hasegawa™, non stò a soffermarmi ora sulla qualità del soggetto già nota a tutti, pannellature finemente incise, facilità dell’ assemblaggio, quasi inutilità dello stucco ecc ecc. Gli Interni: gli interni seppur accettabili, li ho sostituiti con quelli in resina e fotoincisione della ditta Aires, la resina è molto fine e precisa, senza sbavature e bolle, per contro ho rimarcato una eccessiva fragilità dei supporti della pedaliera, al punto che ho dovuto rinforzarli con dei piccoli perni in sprue. Colorazione e Insegne: Il modello porta le insegne del  109 G6/R6 Trop, appartenuto al Ten. Giosuè Carillo della 365^ Sq.del 150° Gr.Aut.C.T. di stanza a Sciacca nel Giugno del 1943, le stesse provengono dal foglio Sky Models 48-011, e devo dire che mi hanno fatto decisamente dannare, data la loro bassissima reazione a tutti i liquidi emollienti. Per la colorazione (i Bf109 G.6 mantenevano la livrea continentale) ho utilizzato colori di varie marche sia acrilici che sintetici, citerò per motivi  di spazio solo i principali. Camouflage: Xtracolor e Modelmaster, interni: Humbrol e Lifecolor, fasce bianche, gialle e Grigio Azzurro per obliterare le insegne:  Lifecolor

A little bit of history: during the first months of 1943, few months after the armistice, finally the Command of the R.A. decided to make a serious evaluation of the Bf.109 to cover the great number of losses of our Fighter Command and in the meantime try to stop the air superiority of the Allies coming stronger day after day, because the new fighters of the series “5” went out the factory as spilled with a teardrop. The R.A. had a total of 125 Messerschmitt fighters of the various versions, distributed to 23° Gr. CT and to 3° and 150° Gr. Aut. Caccia Terrestre. The Model: the model build was the box number Jt187 by Hasegawa™, I don't want to talk about the qualities of the subject well known to everybody. fine engraved lines, good assembly, a little amount of putty required and so on. The interiors: the interiors of the model are nicely done, but I preferred to take advantage by the Aires™ resin and photoetched set, the resin is really fine and well sculpted without inaccuracies and bubbles, but for me the support of the pedals are too much fragile so I had to strengthen them with little pieces of sprue. Camouflage and markings: the model brings the markings of the Bf109 G6/R6 Trop, flown by Ten. Giosuè Carillo of the 365^ Sq. of the 150° Gr.Aut.C.T. based at Sciacca during june in 1943, the decals are from the Sky Models sheet 48-011, and I have to tell you the was really difficult to set them properly due to the low reaction they have to the softening solutions. About painting (the Bf109 G.6 hold their continental camouflage) I used several paints of various brands, both enamel and acrylic, I told you only the most significant. Camouflage: Xtracolor and Modelmaster - interiors: Humbrol and Lifecolor -  white, yellow and azure gray for the fuselage stripes to cover the German markings:  Lifecolor
